Cuffed if more than 3kgs
Cuffed = (Age/4)+4 Uncuffed = (Age/4)+3.5
Oral Length = (Age/2)+12
Drugs
Keeping it simple, drugs for intubating critically ill child:
- 1micro/kg Fentanil
- 1-2mg/kg Ketamine
- 1mg/kg Rocuronium
In other words, do the same as you would do for adults with these drugs!
Emergency Drugs
- 1micro/kg Adrenaline for hypotension
- 10micro/kg Adrenaline for cardiac arrest
- 600micro/kg Atropine for bradycardia
- 10ml/kg fluid bolus
