When you reference a case, reference the precise paragraph/page If you are referencing a code of practice - reference it like a book

Use westlaw + lexisnexis this time. BAILII - court of protection and more recent cases. Remember Hansard for political debate. Law Commission for political reform?

Dont use blogs as a source

Dont use the same source / author again and again and again.

When you are talking about the reasoning, why did the judges reach the conclusions that they did?

Engage with the sources, don't just describe them! Be critical!

Find a reference for everything you say!

When you are citing a page in a chapter - you need to reference the page!

An introduction should be a couple of pages. Be bold with what your answer is, but wait for the second paragraph. Make sure you cover every element of the question. Mirror the language of the question, use the terminology provided by the question.

Lead with your voice and your views You dont need to describe with person A and person B before you. You can go before them.

Try creativity Try a different structure than the lectures, or articles youve read. Read the cutting edge literature + cases. (2020, 2019)

It does need to be Law AND Ethics. Not one or the other. But it doesn't need to be 50/50

Proper paragraphs, should be around two a page. Not too many subheadings, not more than one a page.

Definitions will be part of the first real section, not the introduction.
